Ted Cruz Dismisses Possibility of a Contested Convention

On Monday, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz dismissed the notion of a contested convention as a fantasy of the GOP establishment and added that he was not preparing for one. The Texas senator told reporters, "A contested convention is the great hope of the Republican establishment, it is how they are drowning away their sorrows. All these crazy voters go one way, we'll step in with all of our money and anoint our white knight to ride in and save the day. That's not going to happen." Other Republican campaigns, including Marco Rubio's, have indicated that they are readying for the possibility.
